In the Spring of 2019, the London City School District published its Portrait of a Graduate, which highlights the key skills and attitudes necessary for district graduates to have success in college and careers. Our district uses the Portrait of a Graduate to help design meaningful teaching and learning experiences for our students.
The following students were recognized during the October Regular Board of Education meeting for substantially demonstrating the district’s Portrait of a Graduate. Congratulations to each of these students!
Maxwell Davis (4th Grade) - London Elementary School
Max is a fourth-grade student at London Elementary School. His teachers report him to be a kind and thoughtful student who consistently looks out for his classmates. He demonstrates exceptional academic ability and thrives on new challenges, approaching each task with curiosity and determination. This past spring, Max earned a perfect score on his state assessment, a remarkable achievement that reflects his dedication and intellect. In recognition of his accomplishments, his name will be added to the LES Ring of Honor this November. Max’s positive attitude and genuine care for others make him not only a joy to have in class but also a true portrait of a graduate.
Hailey Winebrenner (8th) - London Middle School
Eighth grader Hailey Winebrenner is a shining example of what it means to be a London Middle School Red Raider, embodying every aspect of our Portrait of a Graduate. A consistent Merit Honor Roll student since arriving at LMS, Hailey continues to demonstrate strong academic skills and a dedication to excellence in all she does. Her favorite subject, Algebra, has become a highlight of her day thanks to Mr. Ostendorf, whose fun and engaging lessons have sparked her love for learning math.
As a member of the Junior National Honor Society and a former Student Council representative, Hailey is an effective communicator and respectful leader among her peers. She also contributes to the yearbook staff and plays a key role on the morning announcement crew, a team of Lady Raiders who took initiative to propose improvements to the daily announcements—showcasing true critical and creative thinking. Their thoughtful presentation to Mr. Belmont reflected maturity, teamwork, and the confidence to bring positive change.
Beyond the classroom, Hailey is both flexible and adaptable, balancing academics, athletics, and community involvement. She has played volleyball since second grade, competing for St. Pat’s, London Elite, London Middle School, and now the Game Time Gators, a national travel team based in Springfield. Hailey also shines on the track, where she competes in the 4x2 relay and the 200-meter dash.
During the summer, Hailey continues to demonstrate her strong work ethic through 4-H, where she shows goats and cows. After showing cows once, she decided her heart belongs with goats and plans to stick with them moving forward—a perfect example of her self-awareness and adaptability.
With her eyes on the future, Hailey hopes to become either a financial advisor like her uncle or a lawyer, inspired by the movie Legally Blonde. Whether crunching numbers, debating ideas, or collaborating with others, Hailey Winebrenner represents the very best of London Middle School—a respectful, well-rounded learner ready to take on any challenge.
Timothy Leach (12th) - London Unlimited
Senior Timothy Leach is a shining example of the London City Schools Portrait of a Graduate, demonstrating the skills and attitudes necessary for success in life beyond high school. A dedicated London Unlimited student for the past two years, Tim balances academics with a busy schedule that includes working over 20 hours each week at Midwest Electrical Sales and playing football for London High School, where he has been a team member all four years. His ability to manage multiple responsibilities highlights his flexibility, adaptability, and strong time-management skills.
Tim’s plans include pursuing a career in Agricultural and Crop Insurance Sales, where his strengths as an effective communicator and critical, creative problem-solver will serve him well.
In addition to his academic and athletic accomplishments, Tim has earned both the Community Service Seal and the Science Seal, demonstrating his dedication to service and academic achievement. Timothy’s determination and positive attitude truly show what it means to be a London Red Raider.
Hannah Howard (12th) - London High School

Hannah’s leadership, dedication, and integrity have made her a vital part of the school community. As a second-year intern for the athletic trainer, she plays an important role supporting the athletic department by assisting at events, managing the video board, and operating the scoreboard. Her involvement as a multi-sport athlete and active participant in campus events reflects her outstanding leadership and sportsmanship.
Known for her unique blend of quiet strength and passionate dedication, Hannah consistently seeks growth and improvement.
