Ohio’s First Lady Reads to PreK Students

On Tuesday, October 25, First Lady Fran DeWine stopped by Fairhaven Early Learning Academy to read to the program’s afternoon classes. Along with sharing one of her favorite books, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the First Lady also supplied every student with a book from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio and a cookbook for families. Madison County was the last of visits to Ohio’s 88 counties for Mrs. DeWine.

As First Lady, Mrs. DeWine has long been an advocate for early childhood literacy including founding the Ohio Governor's Imagination Library in 2019. The program expanded statewide in November 2020 and joined Dolly Parton’s national effort in 2022.

The staff and students at Fairhaven Early Learning Academy are very appreciative to Mrs. DeWine, the staff at Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, and members of the United Way of Clark, Champaign & Madison Counties, for this wonderful experience.
