The London City School District and Madison County Public Health are teaming up to provide families another opportunity to receive the COVID19 vaccine. The vaccine clinic will be held on Thursday, August 12th, 2021 at London High School from 1 - 3 pm during high school schedule pickup. Families interested in participating are encouraged to pre-register online. The Pfizer vaccine has been approved for individuals age 12 and older. Parents may provide permission online, although students aged 12 to 17 are strongly encouraged to have a parent present at the time of vaccination.
Madison County Public Health continues to offer onsite appointments and walk-Ins for any individual wishing to receive the COVID19 vaccine during regular business hours Monday through Friday and Thursday evenings. Interested individuals can book an appointment online or simply walk into their office.
Choosing to receive the COVID19 vaccine is optional and not required for school attendance nor is it required for participation in any school activities. However, current public health requirements still dictate that individuals in the community are required to quarantine or isolate under the following conditions:
A fully vaccinated person does not have to quarantine following known exposure to a COVID-19 case if the vaccinated person remains symptom-free.
An unvaccinated person must follow normal quarantine procedures if he/she is exposed to someone who tests positive for COVID-19. The quarantine period is between 7 and 10 days following the exposure. The quarantine period will be set and managed by Madison County Public Health.
Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 must follow normal isolation procedures. The isolation period is not less than ten days. The isolation period will be set and managed by Madison County Public Health.
An individual is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Questions regarding the vaccine or policies on quarantine or isolation should be directed to Madison County Public Health.
