Be Awesome Today

As London City Schools prepares for the 2026-2027 school year, several familiar faces will assume new leadership responsibilities, reflecting the district's continued commitment to developing talented leaders from within the organization.

Michael Belmont Named Director of Operations

After serving as Principal of London Middle School for the past decade, Mr. Michael Belmont will transition to the district's Central Office as Director of Operations. Belmont served as Assistant Principal at London High School before becoming Principal at London Middle School in 2016.

In his new role, Belmont will oversee the district's Transportation, Maintenance, and Food Service departments while coordinating a variety of operational functions that support the daily needs of students and staff.

The newly created Director of Operations position assumes several responsibilities previously assigned to the Assistant Superintendent. Rather than immediately filling the Assistant Superintendent position, the district will redistribute the remaining responsibilities among its administrative team for the 2026-2027 school year. This approach will allow district leadership to evaluate organizational needs throughout the year and determine the most effective long-term leadership structure while maintaining continuity in district operations.

Amy Neal to Lead Transportation Department

Mrs. Amy Neal has been selected as London City Schools' new Transportation Supervisor. Neal has served as a bus driver for the district since 2017, safely transporting students to and from school and extracurricular activities.

Before joining London City Schools, Neal gained valuable experience in both transportation and project management. Her professionalism, leadership, and strong relationships with colleagues have earned the respect of both her peers and the families she serves.

Kyle Riegel Promoted to Director of Technology

London High School graduate Mr. Kyle Riegel has been promoted to Director of Technology following the departure of Dillan Shumaker.

A member of the Class of 2014, Riegel joined London City Schools last year as Technology Supervisor after previously supporting the district through contracted technology services. In his new role, he will oversee the district's technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, instructional technology, and day-to-day technology operations. To ensure continued support for staff and students, the district will supplement its technology department with contracted services as needed.

These leadership transitions reflect London City Schools' commitment to recognizing and investing in talented employees who have already made a positive impact within the district. By promoting experienced leaders from within, the district is well-positioned to continue providing outstanding service and support to students, staff, and the London community.
