Katelyn Duvall

The London Rotary Club is proud to recognize Katelyn Duvall, an exceptional senior at London High School, as the May Student of the Month. Katelyn exemplifies academic excellence, strong leadership, and outstanding character, qualities that make her a standout choice for this prestigious honor.

A dedicated and high-achieving student, Katelyn boasts an impressive 4.399 GPA and ranks 10th in her class. Her passion for learning, especially in science, sets her apart. She has been a consistent presence on the merit honor roll.

Katelyn has been an active member of London High School. In addition to her presence on the Merit Honor Roll, Katelyn has received and been a part of  the following: Varsity basketball member for four  years serving as a captain junior and senior years while receiving the honors of 1st team CBC, Special mention CBC, Second team All District, Honorable Mention All Ohio, Silver Scholar Award (junior award for GPA), Gold scholar award (Senior GPA.) She has been a four-year member of Varsity Track and Field, serving as captain junior year and receiving the  2024 Coaches award, CBC First team 5x, CBC 2nd team, Rookie of the year, Spring MVP,  two-time “Passing baton leadership award.” Katelyn played Varsity soccer for two years and received Sophomore Player of the Year. Katelyn also played Varsity golf for one year. Beyond the field and court, Katelyn has been a member of Student Council, National Honor Society for two years, serving as President during senior year, Sophomore class secretary,  Student Section leader, CBC athlete of the month in February, Top 10 in Class, and graduating with honors.

When asked to reflect on an educator who has significantly influenced her, Katelyn named London High School English Teacher, Mrs. Michelle Sambas. Katelyn shared,

“Mrs. Sambas is an inspiration to me because she has been a huge help during my high school years in both honors and college classes. Her work ethic and ability to help others inspire me to do the same.”

Mrs. Sambas, in turn, offered glowing praise for Katelyn:

“Katelyn is an incredibly reliable and hard-working young woman. She's a leader in the classroom and not afraid to share her ideas and stand her ground in discussion, yet her willingness to listen to others shows her patience and open-mindedness. Her hard work and determination will help her go far and accomplish much. I am proud to know Katelyn, and I believe she will achieve great things. I look forward to her success in college and in life.”

After graduation, Katelyn intends to go to The Ohio State University to study Nursing and specialize in anesthesia. She is the daughter of Jennifer and Charles Duvall of London.
