On Friday, April 17th, the London High School Robotics Teams traveled to compete at the National Robotics Challenge in Marion, Ohio, along with other London High School Technology students who displayed their work at the OTEEA State Project Showcase.
London High School’s Sumo Robot team, consisting of freshmen Talyn Kaufman and Layton Hastings, sophomores Colin Carn and Ryan Bower, and Senior Latrell Jackson, returned to the challenge on Saturday, the 18th, to compete in the final eight bracket for the top spot in the country. They made a strong showing to earn fourth in their event.
On the OTEEA State Project Showcase side of campus, sophomore Maddie Tompkins earned a second-place ribbon for her shelf woodworking project. Sophomore JT Hackett earned an Award of Merit for his shelf made from recycled wooden barrels in the Restoration Innovation recycling competition. Sophomores Torrian Jackson and Parker Stewart and senior Mathias Coulardot took home Best of Show for their wall construction, demonstrating their skills of rough framing, electrical, drywall, mudding, and painting. The London High School Technology students earned a comprehensive 5th place in the state for their outstanding technology display.
