March is National Reading Month, a perfect time to highlight the powerful connection between reading and attendance. When students attend school consistently, they are three times more likely to read on grade level. Being present each day allows students to practice reading, build vocabulary, and strengthen comprehension skills through daily instruction and engaging classroom activities.
To make reading even more exciting, London Elementary students are exploring creative reading spaces throughout the school. One favorite spot is Mrs. Daniels’ Lemonade Corner, a bright and welcoming area where students can relax and enjoy a good book. These fun reading environments help encourage students to see reading as an enjoyable part of their school day while celebrating the spirit of National Reading Month.
