🏊‍♂️ Swimming Makes Waves at CBC & Beyond

The swim team turned in one of its strongest performances of the season at the Central Buckeye Conference Swim Meet on January 31, finishing fourth overall against tough competition. The Red Raiders captured first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay and added a runner-up finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Griffin Lotton led the way with conference titles in both the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle, while Caelan Mars placed second in the 500 and third in the 200 freestyle. London continued its momentum on February 4 in a home meet against Indian Lake and Ben Logan, finishing second overall. Lotton again swept the 200 and 500 freestyle events, while Gabe Scholl claimed victories in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke. Mars added a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle and third in the 500, helping secure another strong team showing.

This week also brought major recognition as Central Buckeye Conference Honors were awarded. Griffin Lotton was named CBC Swimmer of the Year (2nd year in a row) and earned First Team All-CBC honors in both of his winning events. Caelan Mars secured Second Team All-CBC honors in the 500 freestyle and Third Team honors in the 200 freestyle. The 400 freestyle relay team, consisting of Lotton, Mars, Gabe Scholl, and James Thompson, earned First Team All-CBC recognition as well.

The girls split their week as well, defeating Northwestern 2300–1987 before dominating Madison Plains 2111–1592. The strong finishes provided momentum as postseason play approaches.

🏀 CBC Champ Girls Basketball Wins the Close Ones & the Not So Close Ones

The Central Buckeye Conference Champion girls' basketball team showed some resilience in a pair of strong performances. London battled Urbana on February 4 before pulling away for a 53–43 win.
