Gingerbread Day

First-grade students at LES enjoyed a festive and meaningful celebration during Gingerbread Day, an event that brought learning and families together. Families of first-grade students were invited to school to work alongside their children to construct gingerbread houses using icing, gumdrops, and all of the colorful trimmings.

Beyond the holiday fun, Gingerbread Day supported STEAM learning as students explored design, problem-solving, and creativity through hands-on construction. Just as importantly, the event strengthened family connections, allowing parents and guardians to engage in their child’s learning while creating lasting holiday memories together. Events like Gingerbread Day highlight the joy of the season while reinforcing the value of collaboration, creativity, and community.
