The London Rotary Club is proud to recognize Griffin Lotton, an exceptional senior at London High School, as the September Student of the Month. Griffin exemplifies academic excellence, strong leadership, and outstanding character—qualities that make him a standout choice for this prestigious honor.
A dedicated and high-achieving student, Griffin boasts an impressive 4.46 GPA and ranks 1st in his class. His passion for learning, especially in mathematics, sets him apart. He has been a consistent presence on the merit honor roll and is a two-year member of the National Honor Society.
Griffin has been an active member of London High School. In addition to NHS, Griffin has been a member of Quick Recall, President of the Student Council, and Vice-President of the Senior Class. Griffin’s talents extend far beyond the classroom. He has been an integral member of the London Swim Team. Griffin has earned the following distinctions over the past three seasons, 8 time First Team All-CBC, 3 time Second Team All-CBC, CBC Swimmer of the Year, 3 time State Qualifier in the 500 meter, 6 time District medalist, member of the first London Swimming Relay to earn First Team All-CBC, member of the first London Swimming Relay to podium at Districts, and the first London swimmer to qualify for the state swim meet and be named CBC Swimmer of the Year.
When asked to reflect on an educator who has significantly influenced him, Griffin named his swim coach and District Superintendent, Dr. Lou Kramer. Griffin shared:
“Dr. Lou Kramer, he is a very busy man but he still finds the time to coach anywhere from 5-6 different high school teams. He is a phenomenal person at meets as he is always trying to make everyone smile, have a good time, and swim fast. He has developed a very strong program from scratch and is continuing to make it better and better every year. All of that combines to make him a great role model and coach, which is someone I am glad to be able to look up to.”
Dr. Kramer, in turn, offered glowing praise for Griffin:
“Griffin is a goofball, but he's also bright, determined, caring, and resilient. Over the past three-plus years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as both his Superintendent and swim coach, and I’ve seen not only his quirky sense of humor but also his growth, from a cocky and awkward freshman to a humble and confident senior. Whether in the pool or in the classroom, Griffin’s determination to improve and succeed will no doubt carry him forward as he pursues a degree in a STEM field and continues his swimming career.”
After graduation, Griffin plans to attend a 4-year university, where he will study biology on a Pre-Med track, and he will continue on to Medical School to become a Sports Medicine Physician. He is the son of Rachel Price and James Lotton of London.
