Over the summer, London City Schools completed a wide range of facility and maintenance projects designed to improve safety, functionality, and the overall learning environment across the district. One of the most noticeable upgrades involved concrete work throughout campus, where walkways, curbs, and entrances were repaired or replaced to enhance accessibility and safety. In addition to structural upgrades, all gyms and locker rooms across the district received fresh paint, giving these high-traffic spaces a clean, updated look in time for the new school year.
Roof repairs were also conducted on multiple buildings to prevent future weather-related issues and maintain the structural integrity of school facilities. A major milestone was the relocation and opening of the new London Preschool, which included moving furnishings, preparing classrooms, and ensuring the space was welcoming and functional for young learners. With the addition of the new tennis complex, students and community members alike will benefit from upgraded courts and surrounding infrastructure, enhancing both athletic performance and recreational opportunities. Significant repairs were also completed in parking lots to support better traffic flow and safety.
At London High School, Room 311 underwent a full redesign, transforming the space into a more flexible and modern learning environment. Behind the scenes, maintenance and custodial teams worked diligently to clean and service over 331,000 square feet of district space. Their efforts ensured every classroom, hallway, and common area was refreshed and ready to welcome students and staff back for a successful new school year. While many projects have been completed, we are still working to finish some and continue improving learning spaces for our students. These ongoing efforts reflect the district’s commitment to maintaining high-quality facilities that support academic excellence and student well-being.
