Arbor Day

London Elementary School has once again been honored by the Arbor Day Foundation, earning the 2025 Tree Campus K–12 designation for its continued commitment to connecting students with nature and promoting environmental stewardship. The Tree Campus K–12 program aims to create meaningful learning experiences for students while encouraging hands-on conservation efforts.

Led by Assistant Superintendent Carla Shaw, London Elementary demonstrated its dedication to the program’s four core goals required for recognition:

  • Maintaining a Tree Campus team focused on achieving the program’s mission;

  • Developing an educational plan that teaches students about the value and benefits of trees.

  • Providing hands-on experiences that involve students with trees and community engagement.

  • Hosting an Arbor Day observance to celebrate trees within the school and the broader community.

Through these efforts, the school continues to foster environmental awareness and provide students with enriching, real-world learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom.
