The London City School District is proud to announce the appointment of Sophia Jackson as the new Head Coach of the Red Raider Girls Soccer Program, pending official approval by the Board of Education.

Although Coach Jackson has been part of the Red Raider community for just three years, her impact has been both immediate and lasting. In addition to distinguishing herself as an exceptional high school social studies teacher, she has also served as an assistant coach for the girls' soccer team and as the head coach for the middle school girls' track program. Her dedication to both academics and athletics exemplifies the values of the London City Schools.

A 2022 graduate of Heidelberg University, Coach Jackson was a four-year starter for the Student Princes, primarily playing in a defensive role. During her collegiate career, she earned All-Academic Honors three times and was the recipient of Siggy’s Senior Female Leader Award, a recognition of her leadership and commitment on and off the field.

Coach Jackson steps into a program that has had some recent success, though it has faced challenges with consistency in recent years. Expressing her excitement about the opportunity, she shared:

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to step into the role of head women’s soccer coach for our Lady Red Raiders! I love the game and cannot wait to share my passion and experiences with the next generation of aspiring soccer stars. Having spent the past three years here as a teacher and coach, I’m excited to continue building on the strong foundation we’ve created and to help our student-athletes grow both on and off the field.”

Coach Jackson will be connecting with both returning players and new prospects before the end of the school year to coordinate the summer training schedule and set the tone for the upcoming season.
