On April 6, 2024, the London City Schools district came alive with a vibrant celebration of creativity, innovation, and talent at its annual STEAM Festival. This eagerly anticipated event showcased the remarkable achievements of students across the district in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

The festival was a feast for the senses with a wide range of performances that captivated the audience. The day kicked off with the melodious voices of the LHS Choir, followed by energetic performances from the LMS 6th Grade Band, LMS 7th Grade Band, LES 5th Grade Bucket Brigade, LMS Beginning Band, and the LHS Band. Young talents from LES 2nd Grade delighted the crowd with their rendition of "The Musicians of Bremen", while the LES Choir and LMS Choir added to the musical extravaganza.

Art enthusiasts were treated to a diverse array of artwork, from intricate paintings to imaginative sculptures, all crafted by the talented students of London City Schools. The festival also provided an opportunity to delve into the world of science and engineering, with captivating STEM projects on display from all buildings, including London Elementary, London Middle, and London High.

Adding a touch of rural charm to the event, London FFA students brought live animals for everyone to see. Rabbits, chickens, baby ducks, and cows delighted young visitors and provided an educational experience about agriculture and animal care.

For those looking for hands-on activities, the festival had plenty to offer. Young visitors enjoyed face painting, LEGO stations, and tried their hands at robotics. The LES STEM Lab was a hub of activity, buzzing with excitement as students explored various STEM activities. Arts and crafts stations allowed children to unleash their creativity and take home their own masterpieces.

This year, the district went the extra mile by inviting local food trucks to satisfy hungry festival-goers, while concessions were provided by the Rotary Club of London. The success of the STEAM Festival is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff who organized the event and the students who showcased their incredible talents. It was a day filled with joy, learning, and community spirit, reminding everyone of the importance of fostering creativity and innovation in education.
