The largest barrier to student success at London City Schools is currently student attendance. Almost 30% of district students missed more than 18 days of school last year and were considered chronically absent. Not surprisingly, the district has made improving student attendance a focal point for the current school year. To help improve student attendance, the district, among other strategies, has partnered with the Stay in the Game Network, increased communication with families, and held student town hall meetings.

While there is still work to be done, the district is witnessing encouraging progress. In the preceding month, student attendance rose to 91.03%, marking the highest year-to-year percentage since pre-pandemic times and a substantial 4.5% increase compared to November of the last year. London remains committed to actively engaging with families throughout the year to sustain and build upon these positive trends in student attendance.
