The Purple Star Award recognizes military-friendly schools. London City Schools became a recipient of this award in 2018 and in 2022 received another 3-year designation. This April London City Schools will participate in the Month of the Military Child. This is a time to recognize the sacrifices that military service members and their families make for the security and safety of our nation. LCS has two activities planned to show our appreciation for our military active students as frequent moves and family separations through deployments make life especially challenging for these students. A certificate will be presented to each student by their building principal at a special donut and cookie reception which is being sponsored by London Health and Rehab. Additionally, the entire school district will show support to our military students and families by wearing the color purple on Purple Up! Day which will be held Friday, April 14th.
