FREE/REDUCED LUNCH

NONDISCRIMINATION STATEMENT

Food Service

WELCOME TO LONDON CITY SCHOOLS FOOD SERVICE DEPARTMENT

The London City School District participates in the National School Lunch Program. The food and beverages we serve at each school meet the state and federal requirements, which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines and Smart Snack guidelines.

We encourage our families to apply for meal benefits by completing a Free/Reduced Lunch Application. Please remember that all students who qualify for free or reduced lunch also qualify for free breakfast. They may also qualify to have their school fees waived.

Each student will be given a lunch account and pin number they will use to get their meals. Please practice this number when they receive it. The teachers will also help them with those numbers and the students will learn them quickly!

You can do the following to place money on your child's account:

  • Send money to school in an envelope with the student's name, grade, teacher, and account on the outside. Please do not send loose change.

  • Go to https://www.payschoolscentral.com/#/user/login You will need your student's pin number. You will need to register and create an account with a password. Then, you will be able to add money to your student's account, view and print a student's cafeteria transaction history, monitor a student's account balance, and make deposits to a student's account. For help, you can email them at PSC_help@payschools.com.

FREE/REDUCED LUNCH INFORMATION: Applications are available for download or in any school office. These applications must be filled out EVERY year. Your student's free/reduced status will expire 30 days after the start of school -- they will automatically be returned to full pay status if another application has not been received. If your student qualifies for free reduced lunch, they will receive breakfast, as well. Breakfast is served daily. In the event of a 2-hour delay, breakfast will not be served. Families who receive a Letter of Direct Certification, DO NOT need to fill out a free/reduced lunch application. HOWEVER, please verify that all children in your household were listed in this letter. If not, please contact the Food Service Director to have other household students added.

SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS: Schools participating in a federal Child Nutrition Program are required to make accommodations for children who are unable to eat school meals because of a disability that restricts their diet. In order to make substitutions or modifications to the school meals, the school must have a written Medical Statement on file signed by a licensed physician. All special dietary considerations must be requested each year.
