London City Schools Foundation

One of the best-kept secrets of being a Red Raider student is the opportunity to apply for local scholarships to support higher education after graduation. Each year, the London City Schools Foundation helps to award scholarships totaling in excess of well over $100,000 to dozens of London students to support the pursuit of their future dreams. Top students in each class routinely receive local scholarships of totally more than $10,000 each.

The London City Schools Foundation has been in existence for several decades and operates independently of the school district. The organization is run by a Board of Directors composed of local community members with representation by the Board of Education, Superintendent, and Treasurer. The foundation has the responsibility for managing investments which typically generate about half of the over $100,000 available for local scholarships with the remainder of the local funding coming from other trusts and from numerous local service organizations.

Notice of scholarship opportunities is sent to all seniors in early February. Applications this year are due no later than Thursday, April 14th, 2022. All students are encouraged to apply. Students with questions regarding the application process should speak to one of the school counselors.

Individuals or organizations interested in making a donation to the London City Schools Foundation should contact Dr. Lou Kramer, District Superintendent at lou.kramer@london.k12.oh.us, or by calling the district office at 740-852-5700 for more information.
