London City Schools proudly contributed to the community’s success in the Battle of the Cans competition against the Jonathan Alder School District and the Plain City community, helping to collect an incredible 11,431 items. Altogether, 21,132 items were gathered between both districts!
Throughout the drive, students and staff across the district joined forces to collect non-perishable food items to support local families in need. The generosity of our schools will make a meaningful impact across several local organizations:
London High School & London Middle School: Donations will stock the Bright Bites Pantries, ensuring students have access to nutritious food options.
London Elementary School: Contributions will support Bright Bites Bags through the Mt. Sterling Community Center, providing take-home meals for students.
London Public Library: Items will be distributed through The Caring Corner, continuing their mission to serve community members in need.
HELP House: A portion of the donations will aid their ongoing food assistance programs.
Madison County Food Pantry: If space allows, they may also receive part of the district’s generous contributions.
The Battle of the Cans highlighted the compassion, teamwork, and community spirit that define our schools and community. Together with Jonathan Alder, we made a powerful difference in the lives of families across Madison County.
