Seventh-grade students in Ms. Bonnie McCormick’s Career Exploration class recently gained hands-on experience practicing their interviewing skills. With the support of community volunteers who took the time to participate, students engaged in mock interviews, where they prepared questions, practiced introductions, and worked on developing confident communication. The activity allowed them to see both sides of the interview process while receiving real-world feedback from adults outside the classroom.
Ms. McCormick emphasized the importance of preparing students early for future opportunities. By combining classroom learning with community involvement, students not only build confidence but also strengthen essential skills they will need when applying for jobs, internships, or college programs. The experience showcased how London City Schools partners with the community to prepare students for success beyond the classroom.
