London City Schools’ sixth-grade attendance winners were treated to an exciting and educational field trip to the Rumpke Recycling Plant in Columbus, made possible through a partnership with the Stay in the Game! Attendance Network and the Columbus Crew. Students explored the new Rumpke Education Center, developed in collaboration with COSI, featuring interactive exhibits and a tour platform that offers a firsthand look at the recycling process. From the marketplace to the creation of new products, students engaged in hands-on learning that deepened their understanding of how recycling works across Ohio.
After the tour, students were surprised with a special lunch alongside Crew Cat, the Columbus Crew’s beloved mascot. The experience celebrated not only excellent attendance but also emphasized the importance of student engagement and environmental responsibility. Opportunities like this show how consistent school attendance can lead to meaningful learning experiences—and unforgettable memories.
