London City Schools proudly celebrated Purple Up! Day on April 15th, honoring the strength and resilience of military-connected students. As a Purple Star Award recipient since 2018, the district is committed to supporting children of military families, who often experience unique challenges such as frequent moves and family separations due to deployments. To recognize their sacrifices, the Madison County Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 746 generously provided a special treat for these students.
Throughout the day, students and staff across the district wore purple to show their support, symbolizing unity across all branches of the military. That evening, military students and their families were honored at the School Board meeting, where they received certificates and special recognition. The celebration reflected London City Schools’ ongoing dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for all students, especially those connected to military service.
