London City News

Dear London Families,

Apparently, no one told Mother Nature that the Class of 2026 Commencement Ceremony is scheduled for this weekend. Current forecasts continue to indicate a high likelihood of rain on Friday evening, with Saturday night and Sunday afternoon contingencies also looking unfavorable.

To ensure our graduates and families can plan with confidence, London City Schools is preparing for an indoor commencement ceremony on Friday evening, if necessary. Because this year’s graduating class is smaller (124 students), an indoor ceremony is possible, though it does create some logistical limitations. In the event graduation is moved indoors to the Ray Chadwell Gymnasium, each graduate will receive up to 10 tickets for family members.

Please be assured that commencement will take place on Friday at 7 pm, rain or shine. The district is preparing both Bowlus Field and the Ray Chadwell Gymnasium so we can properly celebrate and honor the Class of 2026 regardless of weather conditions.

We'll share additional details, including details regarding tickets and final decisions, as soon as possible. Thank you for your flexibility and support as we work to provide the best possible experience for our graduates and their families.

It's a great day to be a Red Raider.
