🏈 Varsity Football: Dominant Shutout Win
Friday night lights at home saw a statement victory for the Raiders. London dominated cross-town rival Jonathan Alder 38–0. QB Blake Reay connected with Ladainan McNeal for a touchdown to get the scoring started, and Vance Moerch extended the lead with a scoop-and-score off a fumble by the Alder quarterback. Bryston Toronto powered the offense with a rushing touchdown in the second quarter, giving London a comfortable lead at halftime. Noble added a field goal early in the fourth quarter to make it 31-0, and Toronto capped off the night with another rushing touchdown to seal the decisive 38-0 win. The Red Raiders now improve to a perfect 8-0 on the season as they march towards yet another state playoffs appearance.
The JV team followed suit on Saturday, traveling to Jonathan Alder and securing a solid win to cap off a great weekend for Raider football.
⚽ Boys Soccer: Strong Finish to the Week
London varsity boys soccer fought hard in their first match of the week but fell short against Indian Lake, losing 1–4. They bounced back impressively on Wednesday with a home win over Kenton Ridge, taking the match 3–1 thanks to solid teamwork and offensive pressure.
The JV squad traveled to Fairbanks, where they battled hard but ultimately lost a close one, 0–1. The defense stayed strong throughout the game, showing real improvement.
⚽ Girls Soccer: Tough Road and Home Battles
It was a challenging week for the Lady Raiders. On Monday, they faced Indian Lake and fell 0–5 despite several good shot opportunities. Later in the week, at home against Kenton Ridge, the girls played with great energy but came up short once again.
🏐 Girls Volleyball: Milestone and Momentum
Varsity: Tuesday’s match at Jonathan Alder didn’t go London’s way, but the night was highlighted by Sam Webb reaching 1,000 career kills—a huge milestone for the senior standout. The team rebounded strongly on Thursday, earning a 4-set home victory over Bellefontaine.
The JV volleyball team went three sets against Jonathan Alder but narrowly missed the win. The freshman team also showed grit, keeping rallies alive despite falling in two sets.
