Ms. Boggs’ English classes at LHS recently transformed their classroom into a courtroom for a mock trial based on Richard Connell’s The Most Dangerous Game. In “The Most Dangerous Trial” students argued either for the prosecution or defense, while guests were invited to serve as the jury. Ms. Boggs presided as judge, keeping order and guiding the process as students brought the story to life.
To prepare, students worked in teams to create questioning scripts, with some serving as attorneys and others portraying key witnesses from the story. The trial challenged students to use evidence from the text, sharpen their public speaking skills, and practice persuasive argumentation. The activity offered an engaging way to deepen their understanding of literature while developing real-world skills in critical thinking and teamwork.
