The London City School District, Madison County Emergency Management Agency, London Police Department, and London Fire Department are planning a comprehensive, joint-safety drill for Friday, December 8th. To conduct the drill effectively, all London City Schools will release two hours early on this day.
After the dismissal of students on the 8th, school staff will function like a normal day. School and emergency personnel will initiate a simulated emergency and proctor the drill. London High School staff and students from London City School’s Theater Department will be recruited to help facilitate the drill. The scenario will be graded for the performance of first responders and school personnel.
Parents and community members should expect a significant emergency response in and around the school campus on this day. Reminders of the two-hour release will be included in school newsletters before the exercise on Friday, December 8th.
