London City Schools is proud to recognize Mr. Kevin Caserta, London Elementary’s longtime Physical Education teacher, whose positive influence has shaped the school community since he joined the district in 2002. As the educator with the largest classroom, the gym, Mr. Caserta creates a welcoming, energetic, and supportive environment where every student feels confident and motivated to participate. His upbeat communication style and encouraging approach help students of all abilities feel included, valued, and excited about physical activity.
While he has taught all grades K–5, Mr. Caserta’s passion especially shines with students in grades 3–5, where he blends structure, creativity, and developmentally appropriate challenges to foster both skill development and a love of movement. His flexibility and adaptability are evident daily as he seamlessly manages large groups, varying skill levels, and rotating activities with calmness, professionalism, and enthusiasm. He continually seeks new strategies to enhance instruction, including partnering with the Columbus Crew’s Soccer in Schools program to bring engaging, high-quality experiences to students.
Mr. Caserta is also a trusted colleague and dedicated team player, always willing to collaborate, share ideas, and support others. Outside of LES, he models the healthy habits and teamwork he teaches by coaching track for his daughters’ school district. His integrity, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to youth make him an inspiring role model and an invaluable member of London City Schools.
During the Spring of 2022, the London City School District worked to identify and publish the most valued skills and dispositions that educators should demonstrate daily to help prepare our students to be future-ready. These skills include:
