By day, London Elementary School Assistant Principal Roy Ohr is a proud supporter of the red and white. On game days, he’s devoted to the Crew’s black and gold. And last Tuesday, those two passions came together when Mr. Ohr turned a surprise honor into a win for London students.
As a longtime season-ticket holder, Mr. Ohr was attending the Crew’s July 25th home match against Orlando when he was unexpectedly invited to the sidelines during warmups. Even more surprising, he was recognized on the stadium’s big screen in an interview with Cameron Fontana, spotlighting him as an outstanding educator during the Crew’s back-to-school celebration.
As a school administrator, Mr. Ohr plays an important role in shaping the student experience at London Elementary. He has also been a key leader in London’s partnership with the Crew for the Stay in the Game! Attendance initiative. In recognition of his efforts, he was awarded a $500 Meijer shopping spree to benefit London Elementary. This week, he joined Crew goaltender Evan Bush at the Hilliard-Rome Meijer store, where they filled carts with games, activities, and supplies that will bring fun and joy to LES students throughout the year.
