Elementary Arbor Day Celebration

Second-grade students at London Elementary School recently participated in a meaningful Tree Planting Ceremony in the courtyard shared with London High School, in celebration of Arbor Day. The event highlighted the importance of environmental education and hands-on learning, made possible by the generous support of Allscapes, which donated and planted the tree.

This special occasion also marked a continuation of London Elementary’s strong commitment to environmental stewardship. The school has proudly been recognized as a Tree Campus for the past three years, a distinction that honors schools actively promoting healthy trees and engaging students in nature-based learning.

The planted tree—a brilliant Autumn Blaze Maple—was chosen for its striking fall color and vigorous growth, representing the bright futures of London’s students. Second graders played an active role in the planting, giving them a hands-on opportunity to contribute to their school community and connect with nature. The ceremony served as both a celebration and a learning experience, reinforcing the importance of giving back to the earth and fostering a greener tomorrow for future generations.
