The London City School District met in a regular session on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023. The meeting was called to order by the Board President, Mr. Donovan Cooper with all members present.

During the student achievement portion of the meeting, the Board of Education recognized several students for exemplary demonstration of the district’s Portrait of a Graduate skills and dispositions. In addition, the Board recognized LMS Teacher, Desirae Thomas, as the district’s Portrait of an Educator Honoree for December

Mrs. Blind noted to the Board that a variance report was not applicable this month due to the Five-Year Forecast being recently approved in November. The treasurer's business recommendations included approval for a contract to scan and store district documents and various approvals to complete the baseball and softball field projects.

Dr. Kramer provided the Board with an update on the district’s strategic plan during his Superintendent’s report. The Board also conducted a first reading of the 2024-2025 LHS Course Guide. In addition, approvals were given for several policy updates, a memorandum with OAPSE Local 657 in regards to paraprofessional days worked next school year, and an overnight trip for the wrestling team in December.

During the personnel portion of the Superintendent’s report, the Board acted to employ 2 classified employees. Other routine personnel matters were also approved.

During Board Business, Tuesday, January 9th was established as the 2024 Board of Education Organizational meeting with the Board’s Regular monthly meeting to immediately follow. Both meetings will be held in the College and Career Readiness Center at London High School at 6:30 pm. Mr. Cooper was elected as the President Pro Tem for the Organizational meeting and Mr. Geib was appointed as the district’s representative to the Tolles CTC Board of Education. Mr. Geib replaces Mr. Curtis Brooks, who served the district for many years. Mr. Brooks is retiring from a state position at the end of this month and is required to resign due to his retirement.
