Carla Shaw

Carla Shaw has only been a Red Raider for five years, but during that time, she has had a profound impact on the students at LCS. Beginning next school year, Mrs. Shaw will assume the role of Assistant Superintendent in order to broaden her positive influence on the organization.

Shaw began her teaching career at Hamilton Township Schools where she taught Physical Education. During her teaching career, Shaw taught middle school, high school, and College Credit Plus courses. In addition to her teaching responsibilities Mrs. Shaw also progressed through the coaching ranks of the girls' basketball program before serving as the Ranger Girls Varsity Head Coach from 2010-2016. Despite her move to administration in London, Carla still volunteers as the head swim coach at Hamilton Township.

Hired originally as the London High School Assistant Principal, Mrs. Shaw assumed the role of Director of Digital Programs and Innovation in 2020. In this role, Shaw provided leadership and direct support to district students engaged in hybrid and fully virtual programs. She was also tasked with leading efforts to leverage technology and other innovative practices in classrooms across grade levels and schools. Under her leadership, Carla helped the district grow the London Unlimited program to include 340 students district-wide, 75 of whom are educated virtually using London’s teaching staff.

In her new role as Assistant Superintendent, she will assume a role that focuses on fostering a positive school culture in order to improve the learning environment in each of our schools. In order to do this, she will take an active role in leading Positive Behavior Intervention and Support systems and school discipline efforts, foster staff relationships in order to help LCS be recognized as one of the top workplaces in Metro Columbus, and assist in continuing to build community relationships. As Assistant Superintendent, Shaw will also oversee operations such as transportation, facilities, and issues affecting our classified staff.

Mrs. Shaw holds a Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University, a Master’s Degree from Western Governor’s University, and obtained her Superintendent’s license from Youngstown State University. Although she will officially begin her duties on August 1st, she will work a number of days in July to assist in a transition to her new role.
