London City Athletics

It was a busy and action-packed week for London High School athletics, as teams across the board took on conference rivals and tournament competition. The highlight of the week was the annual homecoming parade featuring all of London’s fall sports teams. The week was capped off with the Red Raider Football team beating undefeated Graham in the Homecoming Football Game. 

Soccer
The Varsity Boys Soccer team opened the week strong on September 15 with a 1–0 home victory over Shawnee, thanks to a decisive goal from senior Nathan Russell. That same evening, the Girls Soccer squad battled hard but fell to Shawnee, 4–0. On September 17, the Boys Soccer team dropped a home match to Jonathan Alder, while the Girls Soccer team showed resilience in their 6–1 loss to Alder, highlighted by a goal from junior Sydney Powell. The JV Boys Soccer team closed out the week on September 20 with a 5–0 defeat against Jonathan Alder.

Tennis
London’s Girls Tennis team earned a commanding 5–0 road sweep at Urbana on September 15. The following day, they returned home and fought in a nail-biter against Tecumseh, ultimately coming up short in a 3–2 loss.

Volleyball
The Varsity Volleyball team delivered a standout performance on September 16, winning on the road in four sets at Bellefontaine. The momentum continued on September 17, when the Red Raiders swept Graham at home in straight sets. The JV Volleyball squad also notched a clean 3-0 win over Graham.

Golf
Both the boys and girls golf teams competed in the CBC Tournament on September 16. The Boys Golf team finished second in the Kenton Trail division, with Bryson Payne earning First Team honors, Jacob Porter named to the Second Team, and Oliver Dingledine receiving both Special Mention and the Sportsmanship Award. The Girls Golf team impressed with a first-place finish in the Kenton Trail division, led by First Team honoree Aleshia Pollock, Second Team standout Addison Sims, Special Mention recipient Charley Peters, and a Sportsmanship Award for Pollock. On September 17, the Girls Golf team placed second at Locust Hills.

Cross-Country

Both the boys' and girls' cross-country teams had the week off as they prepare for a big week ahead, hosting their annual London Cross Country Invitational this Saturday, September 27th. 

Football
Friday night lights brought plenty of excitement in the annual Homecoming Game, as the Varsity Football team dominated previously undefeated Graham with a 42–0 shutout at home. London’s playmakers lit up the scoreboard, with Daquanne Parks running for three touchdowns, Kyler Russell adding two—including a highlight pick-six—and Bryston Toronto scoring once to cap off the rout. The varsity team now improves to 5-0 as they continue another great season. The JV Football team kept the momentum rolling on September 20, defeating Graham 40–22 on the road.
