π Weekly Highlights
It was a busy week for London High School athletics as the Red Raiders took to the fields, courts, and courses, producing exciting wins and showing determination across all sports.
Football and golf produced statement wins, girls' tennis stayed perfect on the week, and boys' soccer picked up two key victories. While volleyball and girls' soccer faced tough opponents, both teams displayed heart and resilience. The Red Raiders continue to prove their competitive spirit as the fall season heats up. Senior nights also made for a memorable week in London athletics.
β³ Boys Golf
The boysβ golf team celebrated Senior Night in style on Monday with a 169β178 victory over Tecumseh, highlighted by senior Jacob Porterβs medalist round of 38. The Raiders carried that momentum into Wednesdayβs match at Urbana, where they edged out the Hillclimbers 183β188 to secure their second win of the week. Congratulations to seniors Thomas Herman and Braeden Fox.
β³ Girls Golf
The girlsβ team also had a strong showing, starting the week with a road victory at Urbana, 200β225. Later in the week, the Lady Raiders celebrated their senior night as they hosted Madison Plains and West Liberty-Salem in a tri-match and came away on top, posting a winning score of 206β266. Congratulations to seniors Hailey Ballah, Jacey Peters, Katelyn Duvall, and Addison Sims.
πΎ Girls Tennis
It was a perfect week for the Lady Raiders to celebrate their senior night by dominating on the tennis courts! They went unbeaten in four matches. London opened with a 3β2 win at Kenton Ridge on Monday, followed by a 4β1 victory at Bellefontaine on Tuesday. They returned home Wednesday for a commanding 5β0 sweep of Bishop Ready, then capped off the week with a hard-fought 3β2 win at Grandview. The JV squad also contributed to the success with a close win over Grandview at home. Congratulations to seniors Sophia Alt and Alaina Tate.
β½ Boys Soccer
The Red Raiders earned two important victories on the pitch. London defeated Northwestern 3β1 on Monday behind goals from Ty White, Chase Daugherty, and Kyle Bell. On Wednesday, the JV squad battled Bellefontaine to a 0β0 tie, while the varsity boys capped off the week with a 3β2 road win over Chillicothe. Goals in that contest came from Lane Cremeens, Tristian Moran, and Brice Tidrick.
β½ Girls Soccer
The Lady Raiders fought hard through a challenging week but came up short in all three matches. London fell 4β0 to Northwestern at home on Monday, then dropped a tough road match to Bishop Ready on Wednesday. On Saturday, the girls battled again but ultimately fell at Chillicothe. Despite the results, the team continues to show determination and effort in each match.
π Volleyball
The volleyball teams faced strong competition this week. The JV squad opened with a sweep of Kenton Ridge, while the varsity team nearly forced a fourth set in that same match, dropping a narrow 28β30 second set before falling in three. The varsity Raiders then faced Jonathan Alder on Thursday, where they fell in straight sets, but showed resilience throughout. On Saturday, London hosted a tri-match, losing to Marysville in two sets but bouncing back to sweep River View in two.
πββοΈCross Country
The London Girls and Boys cross country teams competed over the weekend in the Celtic Class at Dublin Jerome High School. There, they faced strong competition against many central Ohio teams, and they competed very well! Ashley Nolan led the way for the girls' team while Cameron Carn represented London well, finishing in 6th place overall in the varsity boys division.
π Football
Friday night belonged to the football team, as Londonβs varsity squad rolled to a 44β14 win on the road at Indian Lake. Running back Daquanne Parks led the way with four touchdowns! Quarterback Blake Reay also connected with Kyler Russell for a 20-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. The Red Raiders continue their strong season by improving to 4-0. The JV team continued the momentum on Saturday, earning a decisive 36β6 home victory over Indian Lake.
