Bowlus Field on the campus of the London City School District will once again play a pivotal role in the OHSAA state football championships. Later this week, London will host not one but two state semifinal games. On Friday evening, Columbus Saint Francis DeSales will take on Kettering Archbishop Alter in a Division III matchup, while on Saturday evening, Saint Bernard Roger Bacon will play Ironton in Division V. Game time for both games is 7 pm. Tickets will be presale only and limited to families and friends of players of the competing teams in accordance with OHSAA guidelines. All protective actions including the use of mandatory masks and social distancing will remain in effect for each game.

Since installing turf on Bowlus Field in 2016, London has hosted 18 OHSAA playoff games including six state soccer semifinal games, one regional soccer matchup, and eleven playoff football games. The district collects rental fees from OHSAA and profits from concessions and parking for each game. Revenues from these events are earmarked to support athletic facility improvements.
