Dear Students, Staff, and Parents,

Welcome to an exciting 2025-2026 school year at London Middle School (LMS)! This marks my 11th year as the principal of LMS, and I am grateful that you have chosen us for your student(s)’ academic needs.

At LMS, we strive to create a positive learning environment where students can grow academically, think critically, and explore their interests. Our aim is to support students in becoming capable, responsible, and culturally mindful individuals.

As part of our approach to education, we have embraced the coffee bean mantra at LMS. Inspired by the book The Coffee Bean by Jon Gordon and Damon West, this mindset has shaped our school culture for the past eight years. We've even had the privilege of hosting co-author Damon West on campus and sharing the book with every student. We’re proud to continue this tradition: all incoming 6th graders will receive a copy of The Coffee Bean. It’s one of the ways we promote positive change, encourage a growth mindset, and inspire a love of reading.

Like in past years, we encourage students to explore their passions, engage in extracurricular activities, and develop skills that will equip them for a rapidly evolving world. We are dedicated to nurturing their talents and strengths, preparing them to face personal and professional challenges with confidence and resilience.

Please join us in welcoming our newest team members at LMS. We are excited to have Mrs. Sarah Perkey joining as the 7th-grade math/science teacher, Mr. Matthew Bush as our new 6th-grade math/science teacher, Mr. Michael Haskell as our new ED room teacher, and Mr. Robert Griffith as a teacher on assignment. We also welcome Ms. Donna Fuller, who is transferring from the high school to the middle school as a paraprofessional working in our ED room with Mr. Haskell. We are confident that their expertise and dedication will greatly contribute to our school community.

Building on our successful year marked by reduced student disciplinary incidents, improved attendance, and stronger performance on state assessments, we are excited to continue this momentum. To further support our students, we have made strategic updates to our master schedule. Starting this year, students will receive an additional 100 minutes per week of targeted intervention in ELA, Math, and Science, as well as an additional 100 minutes of recess to support both academic growth and social-emotional well-being. To accommodate these changes, we have updated our operational hours:

- Doors Open: 7:25 AM

- Tardy Bell Rings: 7:40 AM

- School Ends: 2:40 PM

Please note that delayed start and early release days will have varying times; refer to the updated student handbook for more details.

Finally, on August 7, schedules for students in grades 7 and 8 will be available for pick-up from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, followed by the 6th-grade orientation from 7:00 to 8:30 PM (more information will come regarding these two events or visit the LMS website for more details). We look forward to welcoming everyone back for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 13.
