Thanks to a generous sub-grant from the Madison County Commissioners, the London City School District Technology Department will have more devices to distribute to students. Earlier this week, the commissioners voted to share $72,000 in CARES funding with LCS in order to support this worthy cause. The CARES Act was approved by Congress earlier this year in order to assist state and local governments affected by the COVID19 Pandemic. Grant funds are earmarked for necessary expenditures incurred due to the public health emergency.

The London City School District has sponsored a 1 to 1 device program for all students in middle and high school since 2016. During the end of the 4th quarter last school year, LCS expanded the lending program to any family in need in the elementary grades as well. The grant funds shared by the County Commissioners will be used to replace aging or broken devices in order to support keeping devices in the hands of district students. The Board of Education, administration, and staff of LCS would like to thank the commissioners for their gracious support.
