restart

The London City School District continues to offer education opportunities according to plan 2a of the district’s restart plan. This includes options for all-day, everyday instruction for students in grades PreK-6, and a hybrid for students in grades 6-12. The district is basing decisions on educational options on teacher availability and the county’s health advisory level, while also taking into account enrollment trends, staff and student average absences with an eye on COVID related quarantine, isolated, or positive cases.

To date, LCS has recorded 1 positive case of COVID19 for staff and students.

Representatives from local school districts continue to collaborate with Madison County Public Health (MCPH) on issues related to the implementation of county health protocols. MCPH has been willing to discuss possible modifications to health protocols depending on community trends of the disease.

Based on current information, the district will continue its current plan for educational offerings for the immediate future. However, a move to bring both LMS and LHS students back to campus full time at the start of the second quarter is possible if current trends continue (Please note, students who have opted for a Raider Remote curriculum must remain in virtual classes until at least the end of the semester).

A decision on a possible change is scheduled to be announced on October 2nd.
