Consistent with guidance from the Governor and the Ohio Department of Education and with consultation from the Madison County Public Health Department, London City Schools has announced plans to honor graduates in a modified commencement ceremony this year.

In light of the state’s ban on gatherings over 10 people, much of the traditional commencement program including musical performances and remarks from senior class officers, guest speaker, LHS Teacher Tim Coudret, and school administrators and staff will be pre-recorded. On Graduation Day, seniors will be invited to take part in a vehicle parade culminating on the campus of London High School, where students will receive their diploma in a drive up ceremony. A culminating video including features of each graduate, traditional speeches, and excerpts from the drive up ceremony will be broadcast at 5 pm on May 24th, 2020 via the district’s Youtube channel.

Although not having a traditional graduation is disappointing for all, the district is extremely proud of its seniors and looks forward to celebrating their accomplishments.
