The London City School District Board of Education met in regular session on Tuesday, September 12th. During the meeting the Board took the opportunity to recognize the contributions of the District’s various support groups including the Academic, Music, and Athletic Boosters, the Touchdown Club, and the LES and LMS Parent/Teacher Organizations by presenting certificates of appreciation to each group’s president. Also, the London Middle School Robotics Club, led by advisor Xavier Burgstaller and students Jake Belmont and Derek Moore, gave a demonstration of their robots and provided background on the club and their competitions for the coming year.
The Board took action to approve annual overnight student field trips for the FFA to the National Convention in Indianapolis in October, the 6th grade to Camp Nuhop for outdoor education in March, and the 8th grade to Washington D.C. in May. The Board also approved an agreement with the Ohio Department of Education to officially conclude all business regarding the London Academy. Finally, the Board officially accepted the resignation of District Treasurer, Kristine Blind. In doing so, Board President Darryl Brown openly thanked her for her six years of service to the district and wished her the best in her career.
