Message from the Superintendent
It is with great sadness that I share with you the passing of a London Middle School student, who died by suicide earlier yesterday. Our thoughts and sympathies are with her family and friends.
London teachers and students receive annual training in Signs of Suicide in several different grade levels. Please remember, students who are at risk may be at an even greater risk due to the death of a peer. It is very important, whether you have received this training or not, that If you or someone you know needs help right away, you call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255), call 911, or go to the nearest emergency department.
Members of our Madison County Crisis Response Team will be available this Friday, November 29th from 10 am - 12 pm at London Middle School to speak to any students or adults, who may need support. Funeral arrangements and further opportunities of support will be shared once finalized.
As a district we value our role in providing hope. Please help instill in our young people and each other that there will always be others to turn to for help.
Please take care of yourselves and those around you this weekend.
