Sarah Knaebel has a passion for advocating for “her” kids and felt drawn to teaching special education very soon after becoming a teacher. Once she began, she knew she had found her calling.
After teaching students with autism and multiple disabilities for several years, Sarah moved into a supervisor role with the Licking County ESC. As the Multiple Disabilities and Autism Supervisor, she led more than 50 professionals in providing services to students in 13 different districts and also coordinated the Project Search program. Knaebel was initially interested in coming to London due to its proximity to her home in Plain City. However, after interviewing for the position she was hooked on the small town feel and team approach she encountered.
Sarah received her Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education from Ohio University and her Masters of Arts in Special Education from Muskingum. She has already partnered with outgoing Director of Students Services, Cheryl Stauffer, several days this summer to assist in an effective transition. She officially begins on August 1st.
