District Expands 1 to 1 initiative to LHS, Every District Student in Grades 6 - 12 now has access to a Device

London High School will be going One-To-One with technology at the start of the 2017-2018 school year as each student will be given a new Chromebook to use inside and outside the classroom for educational purposes. This one-to-one initiative is made possible after a successful pilot program at London Middle School last year that showed the advantages of students using the Chromebooks in the classroom and being able to take those devices home. Student use outside of the school district will still be monitored by district web-filters, allowing appropriate use of technology a staple of program. The nearly 600 devices will be handed out to the students during schedule pick-up for the high school with a goal of teachers and students to use the new technology the opening days of the school year.

The One-To-One initiative will broaden the learning capabilities of students by granting them a device when not on school grounds. This ability will allow students to continue their learning outside of the classroom, post homework to Google Classroom, and even take on-line coursework through the district’s Unlimited program. All of these options are focused at making London City Schools the highlight of Madison County and the Central Ohio region as the district continues to push for high achievement, constant growth, and individual success from each student.
