The sidelines will keep a familiar face this fall as Alyssa Bexfield will move over a chair to lead the Red Raider Volleyball program. Alyssa served as the Junior Varsity Coach and assisted at the varsity level last season and will bring a variety of coaching and playing experience to the program.

Trey Solon has been named the 2019-2020 Red Raider Varsity Baseball Coach. Solon, who is a social studies teacher at London Middle School, coached the 7th grade Red Raider baseball program the last two years. Besides coaching baseball, Solon is also the Junior Varsity Football Coach and defensive coordinator for the Red Raider football team. Solon played four years of baseball in high school in the state of Washington but opted to play football while at Hiram College.

The London City School District in an ongoing effort to provide greater opportunities for its students and families is partnering with Champions Before and After School Programs for the 2019-2020 school year.  Champions has more than 28 years of experience in providing high-quality programs and is fully accredited by AdvancED.


The Before and After School Program will be located at London Elementary School and will be available from 6:30 - 8:30 am before school and 3:15 - 6:00 pm after school. Options for two hour delays and weekdays in which school is not session will also be available.


The program will provide a fun and safe learning environment as students explore their curiosity through activities in creative arts, math and construction, library time, puzzles and games, and STEM activities such as coding and robotics. Time will also be set aside for homework help, physical activity, and healthy snacks.

Request will not raise taxes 

In subsequent resolutions this past spring, the London City School District Board of Education approved a request to renew the district’s income tax levy be placed on the November 2019 ballot. The income tax levy, which was originally passed by voters in 2005, has been renewed on two other occasions and does not include any additional taxes.
