Ryan Appis

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all students and families for this upcoming 2017-  2018 school year. My name is Ryan Appis, and I am the new 7th-grade science teacher. My path to teaching was a bit unorthodox. I originally graduated from Ohio State with my  Bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture, but when that career path didn’t come to fruition, I  took on the position of a substitute teacher in my hometown of Coshocton, Ohio. It was during this time that I became impassioned with teaching and mentoring students as they work to find success in the classroom and elsewhere. Realizing this was my calling in life, I decided to return to THEE Ohio State University to obtain my Master’s in middle childhood education, concentrating in math and science.

When I am not teaching your students in the classroom, I am usually at home playing video games with my girlfriend (Leah), shredding the air guitar to some metal music, or cooking up something delicious (there are reasons why I am overweight). Growing up in a rural community such as London, I have a deep appreciation of small town values, and I firmly believe that a willingness to put in hard work can help us persevere through all of our culpabilities. I look forward to teaching and getting to know all of the 7th-grade students and Go Red Raiders!

Jennifer Baldwin

My name is Jennifer Baldwin and I am the 8th-grade Intervention Specialist at London Middle School. I have worked for London City Schools for 10 years. This is my 4th year as a full-time Intervention Specialist. Teaching has been a very rewarding career for me. I enjoy being the catalyst for young minds. My favorite part of teaching is helping children overcome obstacles that they feel are impossible and watching their faces light up when they "get" a concept that they did not believe they could. In my free time, I enjoy reading, crafting, and researching my family history. I have traced my family back to the 1600s!

Michael Belmont

Hello, Everyone!
My name is Michael Belmont. I am the principal of London Middle School. I enjoy working with children and helping them reach for their dreams through their education. I believe every child should be valued and treated with respect. An education should empower children and assist them in making a positive contribution to our world.
My wife and I have a beautiful family of one son, one daughter and two 4-legged children. London, Ohio has been our home for the past seventeen years. During the summer I enjoy being outdoors, mainly on the water. During the summer I spend my free-time going to the lake, going to the movies, traveling and shopping at Marshalls. In the winter, I love to sled down my driveway with the kids, movie night at home next to the fireplace and going to Florida for Christmas at the in-laws.

Ryan Billings

My name is Ryan Billings and I'm a 6th grade ELA and Social Studies teacher. I'm entering my 6th year as a teacher and coach at London City Schools. I am currently the JV Girls basketball coach. My amazing wife works in the district as well, teaching English at the high school. She and I love teaching and being part of the fabric of the London community. This summer, my wife and I welcomed our first child into the world--Beckett Ray Billings. He has brought so much joy to our lives already! You will surely see him on the sidelines or in the stands at the Lady Raider basketball games this winter.

As for college, I graduated from the College of Charleston in beautiful South Carolina. There, I studied Mass Media Communications and Political Science. I received my Master of Arts in Teaching from Otterbein University.

Before teaching, I worked in local news in Charleston, SC for almost 6 years. I covered major breaking news stories that included a trip to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake, covering NFL wide-receiver A.J. Green as a high school standout, and meeting multiple high-profile political figures. I also spent a year in Oregon as an AmeriCorps volunteer working with at-risk youth at Hillsboro HS.

I firmly believe in the power of having a growth mindset and a positive attitude. Realizing that we are all built with the ability to learn and grow is vital to the educational process, which I stress regularly.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy watching sports, especially football, including rooting on the Ohio State Buckeyes. In the summer, I enjoy golfing and vacationing to some of my favorite states including South Carolina and Maine.

I am looking forward to another great year at LMS brightening and shaping the best London has to offer.

Go Bucks!

-Mr. Billings

Tammie Dingledine

Hi! My name is Tammie Dingledine. This is my 21st year as a Secretary for London City Schools. I started at the High School where I worked in the Guidance Office for 6 years. I chose to move to the Middle School when there was an opening due to a retirement. I have to say Middle School students are my favorite. They are usually VERY honest and it is cool to watch them grow from 6th grade (where they are still a little “elementary”) to 8th grade (where they are on the verge of becoming young adults). Prior to working for London City Schools I worked at St. Patrick School for 5 years.

I have two children who graduated from London City Schools and now have two grandchildren attending LCS (9 grandchildren total). I enjoy being involved in their school activities as well as the MS events.

Over the years I have taken MANY students “under my wing” when life wasn’t so great to them. At one time the students called me “mom”, now they call me “grandma” and the TEACHERS call me “mom”.

I have been a 4-H Advisor in the past and am currently the MS Student Council Advisor. I have also been involved in many community events along the way.

To sum it all up, my life has been about kids, in one way or another.

Ron Dewitt

Teaching is my passion...I could not see myself doing anything other than this. I have the ability to impact so many young minds; not every profession can do that. What a feeling. I so enjoy watching students learn, watching them THINK for themselves, and having a positive feeling about their education. Every student is important and capable of achieving success in this world. I want to instill that belief in my students and remind them that it is okay to take risks, that it is okay to fail. That is how we learn and grow!!

Also in my free time, I enjoy making crafts, drawing, playing games, and finding new recipes to cook for my family, and just spending time together.

Heather Williams

My name is Heather Williams. I am a paraprofessional in the ED class at London Middle School. I have worked at London City Schools for 15 years. I attend church regularly and love the small community of London in which I live with my family. My husband and I have three children Dylan graduated in 2017. Destiny is a Senior at London High School, and our oldest son, Dakota, went to heaven in 2012.
I enjoy traveling, scrapbooking, and spending time with my family. I can be found most Friday nights cheering on the Red Raiders at the football games.
I believe that your greatness is not what you have, but what you give. Life is not perfect, and knowledge will give you power, but character is what earns respect.

Kirsten Witt

Hey there, hi there, ho there! I’m Kirsten Witt, and I teach sixth grade English Language Arts. I hold both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education. This is my 18th year teaching, and all have been at London Middle School! I love working with my little lovelies and always have! My goal is to reach every student, and in some way, have a positive impact on them.
Outside of being a teacher, I am a wife, mom, and foodie. I’ve been married to Dave for ten years, and we have two little nuggets of our own. Our daughter, Harper, is in first grade and our son, Boo, is in preschool. We enjoy boating, taking walks, rock painting, and fishing. Our favorite family activity is cooking! We love googling new recipes and dancing to loud music, all the while making a mess in our kitchen! If I had to choose another career path, I would want to be a part of the Food Network channel or magazine!
It’s my privilege to build meaningful relationships with my students at the school. I look forward to integrating humor with learning and enjoy laughing throughout the school year! Welcome to LMS! I hope to have the opportunity to get to know you!

Angie Woodyard

My name is Angela Woodyard. I am the district nurse for London City Schools. My prior nursing experience was in the hospital and long term care settings. I enjoy being in the schools and interacting with the kids.
My husband and I have four children; our youngest is a freshman at London this year. Our summers are spent traveling with our son's AAU team and have made some great friends along the way. I love watching sports and Ohio State football. I am always up for a game of back yard basketball even though I am not very good. I am a bit of a shopaholic, always looking for a good sale and enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
