World Wide Web Virtual Library    This is a great site to get started on your decade project. This site will also provide you with links to other resources.

Eyewitness to History    This resource gives first-hand accounts of historical times (both American and World) throughout the years.



Filmsite.org  A unique website containing interpretive, descriptive review commentary and background history on many of the best Hollywood and American classic films in the last century. The site initiated the recent trend to select 100 Landmark Movies in the history of American/Hollywood cinema, that serve as signposts to map the milestones of our cinematic past. The site includes rich reference material including Academy Awards history, film genres, film terms, film history by decade, trivia, and lots of lists of ‘best’ films, stars, scenes, quotes, resources, posters, etc.

The 80s Movies Rewind  A website of only 1980s movie classics.

The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History Founded in 1994 by Richard Gilder and Lewis E. Lehrman, the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History is a nonprofit organization devoted to the improvement of history education. Awards from the White House, the National Endowment have recognized the Institute’s programs for the Humanities, and the Organization of American Historians.
